Sports Officials Commit to Restoring Gbudue Stadium in Yambio

Yambio - Sports officials in Western Equatoria State have pledged support for the rehabilitation of Gbudue Stadium, launched on Saturday in Yambio.

Deputy President of the Yambio Football Association, Roto Justin, said restoring the facility is crucial for reviving football activities in the state. He explained that the stadium needs repairs to the fence, gates, and playing field to meet competition standards and to allow youth to train, participate in tournaments, and generate income through organized matches.

The State Ministry of Youth and Sports assured continued cooperation with football authorities and development partners to ensure the stadium became a modern sports centre. The ministry emphasized that improving sports facilities is key to youth empowerment, peacebuilding, and talent development across Western Equatoria State.

The rehabilitation work will be carried out in phases to return the long-abandoned stadium to full use for the community and sporting events.
