Speaker Calls on WES Government to Support Al Wehida FC After South Sudan Cup Victory

Yambio, South Sudan - Monday Oct 13, 2025. The Speaker of the Western Equatoria State Legislative Assembly, Hon. Ann Tuna Richard, has called on the state government to extend full support to Al Wehida FC following their victory in the South Sudan Cup final held on Sunday afternoon at Yambio Freedom Square.Speaking after the match, Hon. Tuna commended the players for their determination and sacrifice despite limited resources, urging authorities to prioritize support for local sports teams.\"...Every year, our boys represent the state without proper support — no food, no good accommodation, and no transport. They deserve better...” she said.Hon. Tuna emphasized that sports, particularly football, play a vital role in promoting peace and unity among the youth.\"...If the youth are supported in sports, none will think of joining conflict. This is the best path for peace and unity in our state...” she added.
